    The encoded protein plays multiple roles which are implemented by distinct domains within the feature. The roles are "Glucose-6-phosphate isomerase, archaeal II (EC 5.3.1.9)" and "Mannose-6-phosphate isomerase, archaeal (EC 5.3.1.8)". The protein occurs in 2 subsystems: "Formaldehyde assimilation: Ribulose monophosphate pathway", and "Glycolysis and Gluconeogenesis, including Archaeal enzymes". In "Formaldehyde assimilation: Ribulose monophosphate pathway", it appears to play a functional role that we have not associated with any other gene. In "Glycolysis and Gluconeogenesis, including Archaeal enzymes", it appears to play a functional role that we have not associated with any other gene. The function of this gene is asserted in 14551194. The function of genes having the same functional roles have been described in Thermoplasma acidophilum (14551194) and Pyrobaculum aerophilum (15252053, 15290326). These are homologous proteins which implement the same function.
